Low protein foods

Protein is an essential nutrient for our health and growth. But some people are advised to reduce their protein intake due to some health conditions. These health conditions occur due to the reduced liver and kidney function, and therefore it is difficult for our body to consume protein properly.
So, you will have to choose a diet that lacks protein. A vegetarian diet is the best option for people in these conditions.

Low protein foods

Apples

Fruits are always low in protein. These are not considered as a rich protein diet, apples are high in fibers and low in energy, calories and protein levels. This is also a part of diet plans but only for those who want to lose weight, not for those who want to build muscles.

Carrots

Carrots are the most fibrous vegetable which can be eaten raw as a salad as well as cooked vegetable. It plays a vital role while losing weight, as it helps us feel full with consumption of small amount.
But carrots are low in protein value. It can be given to patients with kidney and liver damages.

Onion

Onions can be combined with any vegetable while cooking or it can be added to a salad or can be used as a topping. It acts as a tastemaker in any meal, salad or sauce. It has very low protein value which can be easily consumed by kidney or liver patients.

Bell peppers

Bell peppers are very nutritious and help in losing weight. It is a fibrous vegetable which can be eaten raw or cooked. It is high in minerals and carbohydrates but low in fat and proteins.

Rice

White rice is considered as low protein and easy to digest diet ingredient. It has carbohydrates as well as fat content in excess but the decidedly less nutritional values including the very low  amount of protein.

White bread

White bread is starchy food but it can be consumed by the patients who are on a low protein diet. It is easily digestible and does not create dangerous waste content.

Grapes

Grapes are the most delicious fruit which is liked by most of the people in the world. It has high-calorie count and carbohydrates but it has low values of fat, fiber and protein.

Corn

The corns help in improving digestion. It has fibers, magnesium, folate, phosphorus, and vitamin C but it has very less amount of proteins. Therefore, it is beneficial for kidney patients.

Celery

Celery is one of the most nutritious vegetables which can be consumed raw as a salad. It has a high amount of vitamin K, potassium, folate, vitamin B2, calcium, copper, manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin A, C and B6. It can be consumed easily as it has the very low amount of protein.

Potato

Potato is one of the widely used vegetables all around the world. It has many nutrients including iron, potassium, fiber, vitamin C and B6. It has a high calorie count but low in cholesterol, fat and sodium as well as protein value. It can be consumed by the patients in a small amount as it has iron content.
