How do we build a resilient mindset?

So how do we build a resilient mindset? How do we learn to bounce back from adversity? Here’s a few things to consider:

-Focus on being more flexible with your life. Oftentimes things don’t work out the way we’ve planned and there is a strong temptation to resist what is happening. Rather than panic when you experience changes, try to look at the positives to the change. Learn to adapt to what is happening as opposed to resisting new things.

-Make a point of focusing on the good things in your life, even when dealing with adversity. By developing a position of gratitude, you are inoculating yourself against stress and frustration from having to encounter hardship. Being grateful for where you are in life and having an attitude of looking on the bright side of life will ultimately decrease your stress. This will increase your natural resilience.

-Push yourself physically! Working out and exercising not only has great cardiovascular benefits for your body, but it also helps increase your discipline which grows your resiliency.

-Don’t make problems a catastrophe. When you are dealing with a problem, don’t obsess over it and don’t give it any power over you. By fearing the absolute worst when dealing with a problem, you are essentially letting it grow out of control. Then it starts to affect the way that you live your life. Don’t let obsessive thinking drag you down!
